Status Christmas: Missing!

Pepper went out on the afternoon of the 21st and hasn't been seen since. To our surprise no one has found him and called. With all of the holiday planning and such we didn't get round to blogging until today, Christmas Eve. We are hoping someone has found him and taken him in, and will get round to contacting us eventually. If you have news of him please get in touch. We are out of town until Monday the 27th so please call on the cell phone, 802 859-0859.

Happy holidays, please wish for Pepper's safe return.

  1. Nearly midnight on Monday the 27th, we've had our whoppig snowstorm, and still Pepper is missing. We have had some more recent sightings though... he was around the Tower on Christmas Eve, then followed someone down to Columbus Ave. That's the most recent sighting. I walked around down there this evening on the off chance he was out & about and didn't find any sign of him.

Our hope is that someone has taken him in who is not connected with the neighborhood e-mail list and has chosen not to look up his info on the get-me-home website. The next best hope is that he's trapped in a basement or garage or something. It's so unlikely, knowing Pepper, that he'd allow himself to stay stuck outside in this weather. So we are hoping for the best.

We are back home, so please give us a call if you hear any news, or bring him home to 12 Prospect Hill Ave. Thanks.

  2. Hello all. Thanks to those who kept their eyes open for Pepper. He turned up on Tuesday, all the way down on James St, near the corner of Walnut & Pearl. Actually he turned up there Sunday afternoon just before the storm started and a household down there took him in. Turns out, the getmehome.com website, which is the only link from Pepper himself to this blog, was down all week! So, she had to wait till Tuesday when the Union Square Vet was open again to call them to get our contact info. This explains why we never got any word from folks who found him out & about earlier in the week. We'll have to get a custom tag so we're not dependent on a flakey website.

There are photos of him up here now, as someone requested. He's still going out most days but not going as far and coming home more faithfully now that winter's here in force.

    Thanks again!

    EF
